One Step at a Time is returning for 2026. Walk as many miles as you can throughout May to raise funds for our national helpline, a vital source of support for grieving families all around the UK.

You can count your dog walks, walking to the shops and back, challenge yourself to explore new areas or take on a trek – the choice is yours.

The TCF national helpline is the first port of call for many who are grieving their precious child, sibling or grandchild. It is also the source of support to which family, friends and professionals turn, to help someone they know who is experiencing this devastating loss.

Our helpline is open every day where possible and is staffed by incredibly selfless, compassionate and resilient bereaved parent volunteers. But there are practical costs to running our helpline, supporting our wonderful volunteers, and keeping our technology up to date.
